Deadline has reported that Spider-Man star Tom Holland is scheduled to play a young Nathan Drake in the upcoming movie of the game. It seems the film is taking a page from Uncharted 3 to present a younger Nathan Drake. This kind of make sense as it immediately increases the target demographic to include younger film-goers. Perhaps the producers thought about all the past failed game-to-movie crossovers and decided that an older, adult Nathan Drake movie wouldn’t be able to carry as much youth appealing banter, content, plot, etc – Unlike the superhero movies, that as Marvellous as they are, kick off with a conceit of monumental adolescent absurdity from the start.
Shawn Levy is the latest director attached to the film. He could be the ideal man for the job – what with the phenomenally successful Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ to his name.
