We are living in a new golden age of video game music, and by way of a celebration there will be a lavish orchestral concert at the Royal Albert Hall at the end of the month (Wednesday, 30th May). It’s called PlayStation in Concert and will feature an 80-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, plus City of London Choir, bringing PlayStation music to life. Oh, and a light show.
The programme features music from Horizon: Zero Dawn, the Uncharted series, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, LittleBigPlanet and more. Award-winning Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture composer Jessica Curry, who has a video game-themed High Score show on Classic FM, will host.
The concert is a collaboration between PlayStation and Classic FM, and a celebration of video games introducing a new audience to orchestral music.
