So some of you may have noticed by now that the MCUExchange page can no longer be found on Facebook.
It’s not entirely clear to us either. This unpublishing of our page is the worst in a series of Facebook misfortunes that have distressed our team for months now.
It started back in July around the time Spider-Man: Far From Home came out. Out of nowhere during the first week of the month, our articles started getting little to no traction on the page. Mind you, we had around 35,000+ likes on our page during this time. All organic likes. Each post of ours would net AT LEAST 50 likes on any given day. For a major piece of news, we’d have 200 likes minimum and more than 50 shares.
Suddenly, we were netting 4 likes on a good day. Unless there was a major algorithm change, the math for our follower count and reach/engagement simply didn’t line up. Some of you may recall us messaging you guys privately with the hopes of getting us out of this rut.
Lo and behold, upon researching we found that Facebook had done some sneaky algorithm changes for business pages. From what we understood (and we may be still wrong on this), Facebook began recognizing us as a legit business page (hooray I guess?) and not as a fan page anymore. So the site put us on the algorithm of a business page. Now that Facebook bots recognized us as a business page, they wanted us to follow their preferred business practice of boosting posts and creating ads.
Which we did. We played ball because we thought, ‘Fuck it. Whatever it takes to continue the site.”
So in the coming weeks following that sudden change in our reach, we began boosting posts for key bits of news. I was personally using my own money to boost these posts. SDCC came along shortly after that and was then followed by D23. It was a slew of exciting information and we boosted posts for most of them. Everything seemed fine.
Until I went abroad to visit some family less than a month ago.
While I was abroad I got a message from the Facebook Support team. They said my current location didn’t match the location listed on the cards I used to pay for our ads. The kicker was I didn’t even use any of my cards or Paypal abroad. So I told the support team what was up; that I was on vacation for a few days and would be back to the location listed on my card real soon. A day after I got home from my trip, I get notified that Facebook was revoking MCUExchange’s right to boost posts and create ads.
So not only did we get screwed with our reach/engagement but we were now losing our only means of reaching the hard-earned 35,000+ followers we amassed.
Not too long after that, we get the message that the page was unpublished entirely due to us not abiding by their page policies. No specific reason was given. Just that we broke their rules.
It’s now been 9 days since I sent my appeal to the team. I sent them a message practically similar to this explaining in detail what we’ve been experiencing. So far, I’ve gotten no response. The case is still listed as open as of this writing so there’s that. Better than it being closed but still, the long response time is distressing for us.
If any of you have experienced this before and know what to do or who to reach out to, we’d love to hear it out. If you know any other proper channels to contact Facebook with, we’d love to hear it.
In the meantime, we do have a Facebook group which you guys can join while we sort this issue out.
Moving forward, it’ll still be business as usual for the team. Even though it sucks not being able to reach you guys on Facebook, we’ll still be doing best we can to bring you the goods. That said, hopefully we resolve this sooner than later.
Thank you all for your continued support!
It seems like the rumor from earlier this year was wrong and C. Robert Cargill will not return to write the Doctor Strange sequel. Instead, the original report from The Hollywood Reporter was correct about Marvel Studios looking for a new writer. Well, they found her. Jade Bartlett, who’s script Miller’s Girl was voted into the 2016 Black List of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays, will write. Miller’s Girl is about a young writer becoming involved with her high school creative writing teacher in a dark coming-of-age drama that explores the relationship between professor and protégé.
Now, Wanda won’t pursue a romantic relationship with Strange, I hope, but it seems like Jade Bartlett was possibly brought on for writing a similar dynamic they might employee in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. The relationship between a teacher, Strange, and a student, Wanda. Which could very well spiral into something darker, like in her black list script.
However, it is still unclear whether or not Scott Derrickson will also contribute to writing. Which would be odd if he didn’t since he’s only directed one movie he hasn’t also written, The Day the Earth Stood Still. So, it could very well be the case of it being a solo-effort on the part of Jade Barlett.
How do you feel about Cargill not returning to write?

Will Thor slim down with Jane Foster back in his life in the Phase 4 film? Source: https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2482510/fat-thor-isnt-confirmed-for-love-and-thunder-yet-according-to-taika-waititi
After countless massive announcements from this summer concerning Marvel’s Phase 4 slate on the big screen and Disney+, fans have still had one burning question: where in the world is Ant-Man!? You know, only the guy who helped formulate the idea to save half of all life in the universe in Avengers: Endgame? There has been at least confirmation, if not more, of 7 new MCU movies and 7 shows premiering across various media platforms over the next 2 years, but not one of them has included our favorite miniature hero.
Thankfully, a new revelation from our dear friend Charles Murphy earlier today gives us some insight into this! As recently as 2 weeks ago, we have learned Marvel Studios have decided to move forward with the third Ant-Man film under the business name Pym Particles Production III LLC, and is expected to begin filming in the summer of 2021!
Marvel Studios has made the decision to move ahead with the third 'ANT-MAN' film. About 2 weeks ago, I was told it was expected to film Summer of 2021. Yesterday I found the hard evidence I was looking for: Pym Particles Productions III LLC was formed a little over a month ago. pic.twitter.com/oeemIiX54o

This is exciting news for all Ant-Man fans considering his pivotal role in the highest-grossing movie of all time and not having so much about a rumor about the completion of his solo trilogy until now. While Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp may not have been world-beaters at the box office (a respectable $1.14 billion combined), Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne and the crew have become an integral part of MCU lore, and rightfully so considering their status in the comics as 2 of the original Avengers. Their two solo adventures were great follow-up films coming after Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War respectively, giving the fans a lot of fun and a couple of solid heist films after the Earth-shattering consequences laid down by Ultron and Thanos.
We still have to wait and see whether the movie is a part of Phase 4 or 5, and we shouldn’t expect a release before 2022, but none of us can wait to see Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly suiting up again (hopefully assisted by Michael Pena‘s impeccable storytelling.)

Marvel is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Dark Phoenix with very special variant covers. The press release follows: Media Release — Forty years ago, the legendary creative team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne set a new standard for comic book stories with the Dark Phoenix Saga. Both heartbreaking and thrilling, the story found Jean Grey corrupted by the limitless power she yields as Phoenix. Beginning in UNCANNY X-MEN #128 and escalating until its dramatic conclusion in UNCANNY X-MEN #137, readers at the time were awestruck as Jean Grey went from heart of the X-Men to their most formidable villain. The saga was an instant classic and cemented the X-Men as one of Marvel Comics’ most successful franchises. Since then, the Dark Phoenix Saga has been revisited in various stories, adapted to both television and film, and is considered a masterpiece of the comic book medium. While we may not know much about a few of the confirmed Marvel shows premiering on Disney+, some of them even with no confirmed release timeframe, tonight brings us at least a snippet of info regarding Marvel TV’s future! News from Twitter has revealed that Ms. Marvel is scheduled to begin filming in April 2020 under the working title “Jersey,” filming in Atlanta under Circle Q Productions, which readers will recognize as Kamala’s hangout spot in the comics.
— Charles Murphy (@_CharlesMurphy) October 17, 2019
This information comes timely with the rumblings saying that casting for Kamala is already underway. With the shooting schedule, we probably should not expect a release until 2021 at the earliest, but this is a nice bit of news just to start the hype train. Ms. Marvel is sure to bring a brand new perspective into the MCU with the young Kamala Khan getting her powers and finding her way in the world, and she is one of the many new characters to come to Marvel’s movies and Disney+ shows over the years to come.
Ms. Marvel is one of 7 confirmed shows to stream on Disney+, which is scheduled to begin streaming on November 12, and none of us can wait to see what Marvel has in store for this new division of the MCU!
